This UV spectral absorption coefficient (SAC254) reflects the presence of organic compounds and can be converted into a chemical oxygen demand (COD) value under specific conditions. This method allows for continuous, real-time monitoring without the need for chemical reagents, making it an eco-friendly and efficient solution.

BOD - Biochemical Oxygen Demand
COD - Chemical Oxygen Demand
TOC - Total Organic Carbon

The sensor offers a simple yet effective way to track organic pollution in various water sources, with minimal maintenance and no need for pre-processing.
